1. My kids went back to school on Tuesday. Oldest daughter is in 8th grade, son is in 6th & youngest daughter is in 5th.
2. It seems too early for school to have already started.
3. I think that if the school year in Oklahoma would start after Labor Day & finish in June, the school districts would save tons of money on air conditioning costs, since June is a much cooler month than August.
4. Maybe that money could be used to give teachers a bigger salary.
5. My younger 2 children have male teachers this year.
6. When we met the teachers on “back to school” night, the kids seemed comfortable with them. I always watch to see how they interact when first meeting their new teachers. So far, they’re happy with their teachers & all is going well. But it’s only been 2 days.
7. When I was in elementary school, we usually had 30 students in the classroom.
8. Youngest daughter’s classroom has around 25 students.
9. Son’s class has 15 only students.
10. When my mom lived in Oregon, before moving to Oklahoma in 3rd grade, all the students were in the same classroom with one teacher, regardless of their age or grade. She and one other boy were in the same grade, if I remember correctly.
11. When mom moved to Oklahoma, the children in her class made fun of her handwriting because she had learned to write with loopy round letters and the school in Oklahoma taught the kids to write with skinny straight letters.
12. Oldest daughter was not able to get her locker open yesterday because the door is jammed.
13. She went to the office about it & they gave her a note to take to her teachers. The office staff said that lots of kids have been having trouble with their locker doors not opening.
