is the perfect word to describe Johnny Depp’s performance as Sweeney Todd. His eyes and facial expressions showed so much depth of feeling. His voice… well, perfect.
The entire film — completely wonderful. Haunting, yes. But wonderful.
Helena Bonham Carter was great as Mrs. Lovett and Alan Rickman was an outstanding Judge Turpin.
Although I’ve read the book (script from the play), I’d not ever seen a Broadway production of Sweeney Todd. To see it come to life was amazing.
I’m looking forward to seeing it again. Soon.
