Speaking as a stepmom - who was definitely not respected - I can tell you that things would have been so much easier for the kids if there had been respect and, at the very least, tolerance. Being a stepparent is difficult and stressful enough without having to deal with unkind words and - what feels like sabotage on your relationship with the kids - when all you're trying to do is "blend" families into one! Thank you for the kind comment about my mom. I guess I didn't realize that you knew her. I miss her. She was a Godly woman and very loving. I hope DD's blood sugar levels out!
