it’s not unusual

A couple of women at work were talking about Tom Jones yesterday. They even sang parts of this song and did his signature dance movements.

My parents were not big Tom Jones fans, so I’d not ever seen him perform it and cannot remember ever hearing the complete song (before this morning when I found the YouTube video posted below). The closest I ever came was seeing Carlton sing and dance to the song on “The Fresh Prince of Bel Air.”

  1. I’m not a fan either.

    A co-worker left me a message Friday night to watch the Tom Jones special on PBS, but I was already asleep by the time she called and didn’t hear the message until Saturday. That’s when I looked him up online - so I could see what all the fuss was about.

  2. I have never liked Tom Jones at all. Yet, I do think his singing was better in his early days…but it has never been good. Better than terrible is still not good. I know that many people like his singing. We all have our own tastes. His voice just really bothers me.
