characteristics

What characteristics do you find draw you to people over and over?
Characteristics that I am drawn to are:
strong faith
loyalty
good work ethic
sense of humor
fierce love for family
protective of loved ones
integrity
willing to stand up for beliefs
I’ve been thinking of these things as I read the Twilight Saga and contemplate the characteristics in Edward Cullen that I admire.  [...]

switching perspective

I spent some time today at Stephenie Meyer’s website.  A good friend (who introduced me to her books) had mentioned a draft of a book written from Edward Cullen’s perspective so I looked around and found it.  I believe that Midnight Sun will be my favorite of the series.  I read all 264 pages of [...]

new roof

Last spring, hail damaged the roof of my house.
It took a while to get the insurance adjuster contacted and a check issued.  After that, it took a while to get an estimate and a roofing company to do the work.  When the estimate was done, the guy forgot his ladder, so he drove his truck [...]

What can you do for World Diabetes Day?

Manny, founder of tudiabetes.com has some ideas.  Check out his video here.

Blue for Diabetes

Do you know the warning signs of diabetes?

Frequent urination
Excessive thirst
Increased hunger
Weight loss
Tiredness
Lack of interest and concentration
Blurred vision
Vomiting and stomach pain (often mistaken as the flu)

I didn’t know that these were warning signs when my youngest child was diagnosed with type I diabetes.  I thought she had a really bad stomach virus that was causing her [...]

World Diabetes Day

Today is World Diabetets Day.  I’m posting my words in blue in an attempt to bring blue to light (blue is the color of the World Diabetes Day symbol, the blue circle above).

<<< See the candle in the left sidebar? <<< When you move your cursor over it, you can light the candle and [...]

Snip

Snip is my parents’ horse.  He now has two (horse) buddies, Gray and Patch.
I don’t have photos of them yet.  Gray is my sister Julie’s horse and Patch is a paint horse.

Pilgrim

When I went to the recycle center a few days ago, I was waiting line and saw a turkey run across the road.  Yes.  A turkey.
When I asked the attendant about it, he said that the turkey has lived there all summer.  He’s named the turkey Pilgrim.
It’s my pleasure to introduce you to Pilgrim.  He [...]

showcase

I’m showcasing my incredible photography skills today (obvious sarcasm, right?). See what a talented photographer I am?  These were taken in the car on the way to Branson.
My favorite thing about the first photo?  You can see how long my hair has gotten!

My son loves having his photo taken when we’re driving.

coffee pot

A few days ago, I saw a coffee pot in the work breakroom with a sign on it.

When I saw the sign, I laughed out loud.
Can you see the hand-written words?

CRACK POT
Not cracked pot. Crack pot. Ha!
