sighs

I can almost hear the sighs of contentment as my daughters rifle through stacks of notebooks and loose leaf binders and choose pens and pencils to take to class with them tomorrow. The room is completely silent (aside from the pecking of keys I’m doing) as they look over their schedules for the hundredth [...]

cake wrecks blog

I came across a blog today that is dedicated to cake wrecks.  I laughed so hard that I cried and my children thought I was losing my mind.
This particular cake brought gales of laughter.

contacts

For her 15th birthday, oldest daughter got contacts.  She has refused to wear her glasses for several years, so walking out with contacts in, she could see detail that she’d forgotten she was missing out on. It was really fun to see her noticing everything around her.

it’s all about me… this time

I got this list of questions in an email from a good friend today and thought I’d share. Want to play along? Answer the questions on your blog and post a link in the comments so I can read all about you.

2. Diamond or pearls? [...]

When searching oldest daughter said, What’s the name of the theater where we saw [...]

hot

It’s really hot here in central Oklahoma these days.  Hotter than should be allowed.

Each summer I wonder why in the world I live here in this heat and humidity with no ocean breeze to cool us off at night.  The reason?  Because my parents are here.  Why do my parents stay here?  Because my sister [...]

as seen on tv

As of late, I’m fully embracing my self-proclaimed unofficial title of “AS-SEEN-ON-TV-tester.”
Yesterday, I bought the Ped Egg at my local nightmare department store.  I tried it last night, moisturized, put on socks, and woke up to incredibly smooth, soft feet.  I’ve tried a lot of products seeking to get rid of dry, calloused feet.  I [...]

15 years

At this exact moment, my oldest child is 15 years old. It’s hard to believe that for a full day before she was born I had contractions that I thought would tear me in halfff, paced the floor and prayed for the pain to stop. At 8:53am, when B. came into the world [...]

one year

Yesterday was the one year anniversary of my hysterectomy.  This past year I’ve felt so much better that the severe pain and complete misery for days on end are distant memories.   It was the perfect choice for me and I’m so glad I did it when it was suggested by my gynecologist.
