The hills are alive…

Last Friday night, I was able to volunteer for a performance of “The Sound of Music.”  It was presented by Lyric Theater of Oklahoma City and was completely wonderful.
I still have the songs running around in my head at odd moments.  I’m sure I’m driving my kids nuts with all the bursting into song, my […]

it’s been a Jonas sort of weekend

Our living room tv has played Camp Rock about eleventy million times this weekend. And the Burning Up video, by the Jonas Brothers, too.
Have you seen them yet? You may not have if you don’t have tweens/young teens living in your house.

Spamalot

When I went to see Spamalot last week, I didn’t really know what to expect.  I have not ever watched any Monty Python shows or movies, but had heard enough to expect irreverence and humor.

This man just gets better each year, doesn’t he?
Happy Birthday, Johnny!

Many thanks to Michelle (of Michelle Martin Photography) for permission to use this great photo.

confession

This morning I helped Mom and Dad move a truckload of mulch from the back of their pickup to the flowerbed. Mom and I got the mulch from the local recycling center for FREE. I have some here at my house to use in my flowerbeds, but need to get more. I […]

favorite

Many thanks to Michelle (of Michelle Martin Photography) for the use of this great photo.  It’s one of my favorites from her flickr photostream.

Gypsy

Yesterday, 14 yr old daughter and I went to see Gypsy.  It was fantastic.  I have really loved having season tickets again this year.
14’s review: I loved it all.  The songs, music and actors were wonderful.  But I could have done without that stripping song. Really.

In hail

Fun weather we’re having today. Sirens going off. Golf ball sized hail pounding down in the yard. Tornado warnings. Insulin is in it’s drawer in the fridge ready to be packed and J’s pump supplies are in a bag. Our sneakers and socks are by the door, so we’ll know where to find them.
Sometimes I […]

orchestra concert

Last night was youngest daughter’s spring orchestra concert.  She was the cutest little viola player ever!
See?

The photos are a little blurry.  I seriously need to get a new camera soon.

The praying parents

of the 11 year old little girl in Wisconsin who died on Easter morning of DKA (diabetic ketoacidosis) were charged with second degree negligent homicide.
They could each receive a sentence of 25 years.
